2023 Wedding Trends
Couples are starting to book their wedding rentals, and this is what we are noticing. The list is not in any particular order.
Trend Colours:
Terracotta, Burnt Orange, Dusty Blue, Dust Rose, Dusty Sage Green and still the common favourites of Champagne Gold and Rose Gold. Couple are bringing these colours in by way of linen selections and backdrops or draping on arches are using balloons.
Earth Friendly - Eco Friendly:
Couples are staying away from paper and plastic and renting as much as possible to keep the left over items out of the landfills. I am seeing brides "borrowing" or buying second had items such as centrepieces and then modifying slightly if they desire. Table linen is a staple rental but we are seeing more napkins going out as they are opting out of paper ones to reduce the garbage load.
More Intimate Ceremonies:
We are seeing smaller ceremonies, this could be in part being post-pandemic or for financial reasons. We haven been hearing about funds saved for a large guest count going to savings for a home for their future.
Advantage of smaller guest list is you as the couple get to spend more quality time with each guest you have invited.
Close to Home:
Couples were unable to travel for so long and now some love to have the big day close to where their family and friends are. This produces a savings which is being put towards their future or bumping up their honeymoon. Backyard weddings were very popular in 2022, and we are already seeing tent bookings in much higher capacity than before.
The colour Blue:
Still seeing the colour blue, something blue. Dusty Blue for backdrops and accent linen choices are on the rise. The blue is coming in the form or napkins, table overlays, table runners, and chair sashes/bands.
Guest Books:
The traditional books are on the back burner and different ways of leaving a message for the couple have been floating around. Such ideas are advice cards, wine corks in a frame, puzzle pieces, or piece of art or picture of the couple, wood hearts that you deposit in a heart box frame. Don't forget polaroids and the photo booth pictures.
Outdoor Venues:
There have been several that opened right before or during the pandemic and they are flourishing and brides letting us know they struggled to get a date. Outdoor venues allows for more personalization as you can do more with decor. Inside a venue hall there aren restrictions you don't have going to an outdoor space. Couples can be super creative and really bring "their" personal touch to the forefront.
Wedding Favours:
Same as the wedding guest book, the favours have shifted a lot as well. Often if the couple likes to cook, they may have personalized salad dressing bottles, or personalized bag/box of coffee or tea that is special or from the area. The options are endless, and Pinterest always has lots to feature.
